Donohoe Development and Carr Companies joined together to redevelop 5500 Wisconsin, prominently located along Wisconsin Avenue within the Village of Friendship Heights neighborhood of Chevy Chase, Maryland. The project will enliven Friendship Heights with a new, high-quality apartment building including small, locally-focused shops and cafés on the ground floor – all surrounded by an innovative and attractive streetscape that will enhance the pedestrian experience on The Hills Plaza, South Park Avenue, and Wisconsin Avenue.

5500 Wisconsin will provide a modern, predominantly residential development comprising up to 320 apartment units in 18 stories and 15,000 square feet of street-activating restaurant, café, and retail space. The project will enhance the pedestrian environment with a new shared street between Wisconsin Avenue and The Hills Plaza and will provide the only Moderately Priced Dwelling Units offered in Friendship Heights Village.
