Upton Place on Wisconsin
overview
Upton Place on Wisconsin will comprise 689 multifamily residences atop approximately 105,000 square feet of prime retail space and a restored 825-space below-grade parking garage. Set to deliver in Q4 2023, Upton Place is located in proximity to the Tenleytown-AU Metro station in Cathedral Heights and adjacent to the City Ridge development of the former Fannie Mae headquarters that includes DC’s first Wegmans, Upton Place will transform a recently vacated, to-be-razed office building formerly occupied by Fannie Mae into a dynamic mixed-use destination.
Upton Place will deliver 455 apartment homes in the six-story East Tower and 234 apartment homes in the eight-story West Tower. SK+I Architecture designed the residences with a top-of-the-market amenity package including a fitness center, three distinctive courtyards, rooftop entertainment space, outdoor cooking areas, two pools, co-working space, and various active social spaces for gathering and events.
Donohoe and national apartment owner, Aimco, formed a joint venture to bring this expansive project to northwest DC. Donohoe’s comprehensive real estate expertise coupled with its 30+ year history with the property led to a landmark mixed-use multifamily redevelopment in this historically high barrier to entry neighborhood. This project will engage four of Donohoe’s five divisions including development, construction, retail leasing, and facilities management.
