Thomas Penny, President of Donohoe Hospitality, was sworn in by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser to serve on the private sector led Board of DC’s Workforce Investment Council (WIC). The organization’s website describes the Board’s responsibilities as “advising the Mayor, Council, and District government on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an integrated and effective workforce investment system.” Mr. Penny noted, “Donohoe’s presence on the WIC underscores its commitment to working in partnership with the DC government to source talent and create opportunities for deserving individuals to transition into the workforce and our organization.” He was initially appointed to serve on the WIC Board by Mayor Vincent Gray in 2015; this marks his third consecutive term.
