Donohoe Volunteers made a notable impact at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) Out of the Darkness Walk held on DC’s National Mall on October 21.
Donohoe was represented by a strong contingent of 45 participants, which included dedicated employees, friends, and family members. Their presence was a beacon of hope and solidarity, echoing the walk’s goal of raising awareness around suicide prevention. The company’s commitment to the cause was further demonstrated by the generosity of its employees. An impressive 44 Donohoe employees rallied together to contribute to the company’s walk team, propelling Donohoe to become the second-highest corporate fundraiser for AFSP’s vital suicide prevention programs.
“This event holds a special place in our hearts. We’re incredibly proud of our team’s participation and donation efforts. This isn’t just about the funds raised, but about raising awareness and supporting those in need,” commented Donavon Delarosa, a representative from Donohoe’s Volunteer Committee.
The Out of the Darkness Walks, organized by AFSP, are locally-led efforts spread across the country, aiming to provide support for those affected by suicide, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, and foster a sense of community among survivors, families, and supporters.
