Charlottesville celebrated the grand opening of The Draftsman Autograph Collection, a boutique Marriott hotel located in the heart of downtown at 1106 West Main Street. The property developer, Carr Companies, and the hotel management company, Donohoe Hospitality, hosted the ribbon cutting event attended by local business representatives, city government and project stakeholders.

Designed by BBGM Architects and built by Donohoe Construction, The Draftsman activates the West Main Corridor with 11 stories, 150 guest rooms, over 2,300 square feet of dedicated event space, a penthouse fitness center, and a 4,000 square foot farm-to-table restaurant, Renewal. The hotel’s unique brand has been artfully curated by Dash Design to create a contemporary feel with nods to our founding fathers and notably famous Virginians and Cvillians. Tours of the property featured details such as the lobby focal point Jefferson alcove-style bed, drafting table style guest room desks, and sliding rural Virginia barn doors in guest rooms and public spaces. To add to the experience, The Draftsman’s resident pet ambassador and therapy dog-in-training, Bulleit, is on hand to greet guests and create a memorable engagement with Charlottesville.

The property is the newest addition to the 150+ hotels worldwide in the Autograph Collection and the tenth property to join Donohoe Hospitality’s managed portfolio of full service and premium select service hotels operating under the Marriott, Hilton and Intercontinental Hotels Group brands.
