Insignia on M Achieves LEED Silver Certification
April 5, 2018
Donohoe Construction’s Insignia on M project has received official notification from the US Green Building Council that it has achieved LEED Silver.
Developed by Donohoe Development Company and MetLife Inc., Insignia on M is a multifamily building located in DC’s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. The building received its Certificate of Occupancy in March of 2017. This 324-unit building includes extensive amenities and top of the line finishes designed by WDG Architecture. Amenities include a resort-style rooftop pool, a penthouse club room, a pet spa, and a 60 foot plaza with café seating and gardens. Residents can enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows with Capital or Riverfront views, customizable walk-in closets, and hardwood flooring within their apartments.
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building rating system is developed and administered by the US Green Building Council, a Washington DC based nonprofit coalition of building industry leaders. The accreditation system is designed to promote sustainable construction practices and amenities. LEED certified buildings are less costly for owners and reduce negative environmental impacts. Silver is the second level of certification in the LEED process.
