Donohoe Construction Receives STEP Platinum Award for Excellence in Safety
December 8, 2021
Donohoe Construction was recognized as a Platinum level STEP participant at the Associated Builders and Contractor’s (ABC) annual Safety Awards Luncheon. The award represents Donohoe’s continued commitment to jobsite safety.
Founded in 1989 as a safety benchmarking and improvement tool, STEP has evolved into a world-class safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants. Participating ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 25 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incidents. Participating companies score their level of achievement for each component on a weighted point scale and document their incident rates (TRIR). Companies receive a recognition level of Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Participant based on this data.
“Safety is a continual team effort that we are always striving to improve on,” said Donohoe’s Safety Director, Chris Milton. “The STEP Award levels define goals that enhance Donohoe’s safety performance, allowing us to send our team and trade partners home safely.”
