Donohoe Commercial Real Estate Honored for “Retail Transaction of the Year” at 2023 CREBA Awards

The Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association of Greater Washington, DC (CREBA) recognized Donohoe Commercial Real Estate’s Don Konz and Bert Donohoe with the “2023 Retail Transaction of the Year” award for their work on the Lidl (28,960 SF/10 years) and OneLife Fitness (54,745 SF/15 years) lease transactions at Upton Place. As the Landlord leasing agents, Konz and Donohoe successfully negotiated the leases for the anchor tenants together in Q2 of 2022, pre-leasing 81% of the retail space at the Upton Place mixed-use development more than a year and half prior to delivery.

Lidl’s presence on Wisconsin Avenue will help round out the grocery store offerings in the upper Northwest submarket, providing the community with a diverse and easily accessible array of options. OneLife Fitness’ full-service club will host one of the few in-ground pools in all of DC, as well as studios for yoga, group, cycle, and boxing, plus cardio equipment and weights.

The pair of leases also garnered a Q2 Costar Power Broker award in the “Top Retail Leases” category, and were the largest retail leases signed in the District last year.
