DCRE Investment Sale Highlight: 21 Dupont
May 30, 2024
Donohoe Commercial Real Estate is pleased to announce the recent sale of 21 Dupont Circle, NW.
Donohoe represented both the owner, EFO Capital Management, and the buyer, Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), in the deal that was inked late last week.
The 8-story, 52,000 SF office building will serve as the new headquarters for ATU, which was previously based in Silver Spring, Maryland.
“This building is not just our new headquarters. It’s a symbol of our more than 200,000 hardworking members across North America,” said ATU President John Costa. “Being in the U.S. Capital, where decisions are made, is critical to our mission. We’re also excited to be able to contribute to the D.C. community, where many of our members live and work. The ATU will have a stronger voice through this strategic investment.”
Donohoe’s Project Management team will oversee the building’s planned renovations, transforming the space into a hub for ATU’s programs and administrative functions with state-of-the-art resources. Donohoe will also continue to manage the building under new ownership.
Matt Weber, Senior Vice President and Head of Capital Markets at Donohoe Commercial Real Estate, who represented the owner in the transaction, said, “We are pleased to get full market value for our client in the sale of an architecturally remarkable building at a prominent location in Washington, DC.”
