2025 Bread for the City volunteer event

For the second consecutive year in 2025, the company proudly partnered with Bread for the City, providing a sponsorship and ongoing volunteer support. Employees participated in the organization’s annual gala, coordinated a Thanksgiving food drive, and dedicated a full week of volunteer service to support Bread for the City’s Holiday Helpings campaign ahead of Thanksgiving. Employees contributed an outstanding 683 volunteer hours throughout the year to help Bread for the City provide resources where they are most needed.

This year also marked the launch of Donohoe’s new employee volunteer outreach initiative, encouraging employees to nominate nonprofit organizations they care about through the Community Outreach Requests program. Through this initiative, the company fields requests for support of volunteer activities, in addition to requests for donations from its Giving Fund (started late 2021).

Employee-recommended organizations supported with an additional $50,000 in donations included the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Pathfinders for Autism, Interfaith Works, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, OnRamps to Careers, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Suited for Change, 9/11 Day, Project Linus, Rock Creek Conservancy, Anti-Defamation League, Boy Scouts of America, Kits to Heart, Kingdom Cares, The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria, United Negro College Fund, Montgomery County Little League, World Central Kitchen, Potomac Conservancy, Shirley Chisholm Elementary School, Food & Friends, SOME, and Central Union Mission.

Employee-generated outreach also resulted in volunteer activities with organizations such as Senior Reach, Children’s National Hospital, and others throughout the year.

In addition, the company once again supported the annual Breakthrough T1D Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Games fundraiser alongside members of the DC commercial real estate community, helping raise awareness and support for Type 1 diabetes research and advocacy.

Donohoe is grateful to every employee who dedicated time, energy, and compassion throughout the year.
