2023 AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk
In 2023, Donohoe launched impactful year-long partnerships with Capital Area Food Bank and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, creating meaningful opportunities for employees to give back through volunteer service, fundraising, and community education.
Throughout the year, company employees dedicated approximately 400 volunteer hours in support of these organizations. Volunteers participated in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Run the Greenway and Out of the Darkness events, spent a week packing meals at the Capital Area Food Bank, and organized companywide food and toy drives to support local families facing food insecurity.
In addition, employees continued the company’s longstanding support of the annual JDRF Real Estate Games fundraiser, joining the DC commercial real estate community to raise funds for Type 1 diabetes research.
The company’s Giving Committee also expanded its impact by reviewing more than 60 employee-submitted nonprofit nominations and awarding a total of $50,000 in donations to 35 organizations. These grants supported a wide range of causes, including hunger relief, housing, healthcare, youth development, education, veterans, environmental conservation, and mental health.
Together, these efforts made 2023 one of our most impactful years yet, reflecting Donohoe’s enduring commitment to service, generosity, and strengthening the communities where we live and work.
