J Luna at Ballston Wins ‘Excellence in Construction’ Award

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington and Virginia honored J Luna at Ballston with the 2025 Excellence in Construction award in the ‘Best Multifamily High Rise’ category. The Donohoe Construction project team accepted this award during the annual awards ceremony held on Thursday, September 18^th, at the Ritz Carlton in McLean, Virginia.

The Excellence in Construction awards program is developed to honor innovative and outstanding quality construction projects. The award recognizes all project team members, including the contractor, owner, architect, engineer and subcontractors. The winning projects are selected from entries submitted from across the DC metro area and judged in 24 award categories by industry experts on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

Developed by the Jefferson Apartment Group, and designed by KGD Architecture, J Luna at Ballston features 98 units, a gym, business lounge, pet spa, fire pits, and grill area.
