Ché McKissic was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. In high school, Ché dual-enrolled in a college prep and a culinary arts vocational program and graduated valedictorian of his culinary program. Ché joined the management team of the DC staple Busboys and Poets. In 2015, Ché was named one of Zagat DC’s 30 under 30. From there, he transitioned to Carmine’s DC, a large-scale 750 seat family-style restaurant in DC’s Penn Quarter area. He later joined RPM Italian DC, a high-end Italian restaurant downtown where he learned the nuances of fine dining and earned his level one sommelier certification from the Court of Sommeliers USA.  In 2021, Ché was hired as the general manager of Café Riggs, the flagship restaurant in the bustling Riggs DC Hotel. He was an integral member of the leadership team that made Riggs DC Conde Nast’s #1 hotel in the nation’s capital in 2022.

Ché graduated from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management and began his professional career in the nation’s capital. As a seasoned practitioner of hospitality, Ché believes that his people are his power and employs a leadership style that puts people first, both his guests and his staff.
