Officials of Donohoe Hospitality Services, a division of Donohoe, today announced that Thomas Penny, DHS president, recently was named to the Washington Business Journal’s Power 100 Class of 2021

The list is comprised of D.C.-area business leaders “who have not only helped us heal through the pandemic, sometimes literally, but also those who have held us accountable and pushed us to be more equitable as we do.”  The annual ranking returned after a one-year, pandemic-related hiatus.

“In addition to overseeing a portfolio of hotels nationwide that have been struggling through the pandemic, Penny led a broader call for District leaders to provide additional funding and support for fellow hotel owners and operators,” the Washington Business Journal noted.

“It is humbling to be noted among such a distinguished class of entrepreneurial leaders,” Penny said.  “I have long believed that we most improve ourselves by striving to improve the lives of others.  The pandemic has had a devastating effect on the entire economy, particularly the hospitality industry.  I will continue to work towards solutions that benefit everyone from our hotel associates to guests as we collectively find the ‘new normal.’
