Donohoe’s luxury high-rise apartment building, Gallery Bethesda II, has been awarded LEED® Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute.

Gallery Bethesda II is Bethesda’s newest luxury residential tower, with 17 stories containing 219 apartments, a public plaza and 12,000+ square feet of neighborhood-serving retail.  The building shares a vibrant public plaza with its sister, Gallery Bethesda, also certified LEED® Gold in 2014. Both properties are 100% smoke-free with the environment and health of its residents in mind. Sustainable design and construction features of the project include:

  • Construction using locally sourced, recycled materials
  • Design that maximizes open space and landscaping
  • Onsite stormwater management
  • High-efficiency lighting
  • Energy Star appliances
  • Green roofs and high reflectance pavers to minimize “heat island” effects
  • Low-VOC paints
  • Air conditioning refrigerants that are better for the ozone layer
  • Water-efficient plumbing fixtures and landscaping
  • Indoor Air Quality that exceeds ASHRAE standards
  • Complimentary electric car charging and bike storage for residents

The project is a partnership between The Donohoe Companies and MPM Investments. Donohoe Development Company developed the project.  WDG Architecture and Hartman Design Group designed the project. Donohoe Construction Company served as the general contractor for the project.  Miller and Long Concrete Construction was the concrete contractor.  Paladino served as Sustainability Consultant. Vantage Management manages and leases the property.
