Housed in a converted Riggs Bank building, the 188-room Courtyard Convention Center helped revive a neglected corner of Washington’s East End.  Donohoe sensitively restored and retained the century-old details of the original brick structure, both inside and out.  The restored bank lobby now features the Gordon Biersch restaurant and brewery.  The former board room is a lounge for Marriott rewards members, the old vault was retained and serves as a meeting room, and the safety deposit box area serves as a dining area.
